Eric Luhrs is an Advisory Board member of SHAKSPER, and the webmaster of this site. He holds a B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University, an M.A. from the Shakespeare Institute, and an M.L.I.S. from Rutgers University. Eric is a Digital Initiatives Librarian at Lafayette College.

Technical Information

The SHAKSPER mailing list and website are hosted on a Dell server, running the Linux operating system. The daily postings are edited by Hardy M. Cook, and sent to listmembers using LISTSERV mailing list software. The new messages are converted to HTML by Hypermail, and indexed by Ht://Dig, which provides the search interface to over 13 years of SHAKSPER archives. The SHAKSPER website uses the Apache webserver to display over 17,000 webpages that total over 250 megabytes of text. In addition to the various freeware programs, this website uses several custom Perl scripts to automate daily maintenance and updates. Between the webserver, HTML pages, and Ht:/Dig databases, this website takes up almost 600 megabytes of hard disk space.
