Not a guess. French. Nevertheless another facet of the Catholic-Protestant rift-- the point of the thread. Merci, Nicole [2]----------------------------------------------------------------- From: David Evett <d.evett@csuohio.edu> Date: Friday, 04 Apr 2008 09:30:29 -0400 Subject: The Courtships of Prince Charles "Henrietta Maria was not, of course, a 'Spanish princess.'" John Briggs might have speculated that Nicole Coonradt has allowed memories of Charles I's unsuccessful (and extensively romanticized) courtship of the Infanta, Maria Anna, to occlude the fact that he ended up marrying the Princess Henrietta Maria of France, not Spain, instead.
