SHAKSPER 2007: Egan on 1 Richard II
From: Hardy M. Cook (editor@SHAKSPER.NET) Date: 12/11/07
The Shakespeare Conference: SHK 18.0821 Tuesday, 11 December 2007 From: Carol Barton <cbartonphd1@verizon.net> Date: Saturday, 08 Dec 2007 14:53:21 -0500 Subject: Egan on 1 Richard II I've just begun reading Michael Egan's compelling four-part study of the provenance of the Woodstock play, _Richard II The Tragedy of Richard II, Part One: A Newly Authenticated Play by Shakespeare_, and wondered if anyone more conversant in the Woodstock authorship who has also read Egan's work would be willing to provide some comments? It seems thoroughly researched and well-documented, to my "infiltrator's" eye (I'm a Miltonist with a secret passion for the Bard), but I'd like to know what those of you who investigate such issues professionally think of it? Please respond to me off-list, as it really is a personal inquiry, and I don't want to burden our overworked Magus of Moderation with additional traffic.
