SHAKSPER 2007: SHAKSPER Roundtable Procedures
From: Hardy M. Cook (editor@shaksper.net) Date: 01/29/07
The Shakespeare Conference: SHK 18.0059 Monday, 29 January 2007 From: Hardy M. Cook <editor@shaksper.net> Date: Monday, 29 Jan 2007 10:57:03 -0500 Subject: SHAKSPER Roundtable Procedures Dear SHAKSPEReans, My next mailing to the list will be the opening offering in the first of the SHAKSPER Roundtable discussions. When I asked for feedback, members overwhelmingly expressed a preference for the designation Roundtable to identify this new feature. Two weeks ago, I distributed a Reading List suggested by our Guest Moderator Hugh Grady. I realize that some of had difficulty in securing all of the readings, and I include myself among the members of this group. I hope in the future this aspect of the Roundtable discussions will run more smoothly. By now, those of us who are interested in participating have read some if not most of the selections from the Reading List. Next, I will post a statement by Hugh Grady that is intended to stimulate discussion on the topic "Presentism Now." Using the REPLY key or in a message clearly identified as belonging to this Roundtable discussion, participating members should respond or comment. I will gather these replies and forward them to Professor Grady. He will read them, looking for common strains. By next weekend, he will send to me a brief summary of the week's discussions with his responses and comments. I will organize and format all of these into a single extended DIGEST that I will subsequently distribute to the list on the following Tuesday, when the cycle will begin anew. We are charting new territory here, and I welcome private observations about procedure and so on. So let's begin. _______________________________________________________________ S H A K S P E R: The Global Shakespeare Discussion List Hardy M.
