From: Hardy M. Cook (editor@shaksper.net) Date: 12/09/05
The Shakespeare Conference: SHK 16.2037 Friday, 9 December 2005 From: Hardy M. Cook <editor@shaksper.net> Date: Friday, December 09, 2005 Subject: QuickTopic and Yahoo! Groups For anyone who might be interested in establishing a specific-purpose discussion group as Stefan Andreas Sture has done for the Sonnets <http://www.quicktopic.com/31/H/4tmfaY2kjZd> and Tom Krause has done to discuss the theories he set forth in his paper "A Picture in Little Is Worth a Thousand Words: Debasement in Hamlet and Measure for Measure" <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/shakespearescoinage/>, here are two possible venues: QuickTopic and Yahoo! Groups. QuickTopic <http://www.quicktopic.com/> For any quick group discussion, use QuickTopic free message boards instead of just email. Your messages will be in a private central place. Your friends can participate by email or use the web forum, because QuickTopic's super-easy web message boards let you get and post messages by email. Use it on your web site too. Yahoo! Groups <http://groups.yahoo.com/> The easiest way for groups of people to communicate on the Internet. Features at a glance: Message archive Read and reply to group messages. Start a new discussion. Photos Share photos with group members in your own photo album. Calendar Coordinate events for your group with a shared calendar Polls Ask members how they feel about any topic. Links Store links to Web sites related to your group. If members know of other venues, please let me know and I will pass them on. I will assist in advertising these special interests groups and in directing SHAKSPEReans to them in the event that a SHAKSPER discussion might be more appropriate to one of these groups. _______________________________________________________________ S H A K S P E R: The Global Shakespeare Discussion List Hardy M.
