Subject: 	Re Edited Versions of Shakespeare's Plays

It is of course well known that many Shakespeare plays were edited 
during the 18th and 19th centuries by those who thought they could 
improve on the originals in various ways.

Is there any single handy source which encapsulates, play by play, the 
important changes to plot and characters that were made by the various 
audacious editors?

In particular, were there any of the plays which had more than one 
edited version that was popular and performed for any period of time?

And, conversely, which of the plays were substantially left alone?
