The Shakespeare Conference: SHK 15.2093 Monday, 13 December 2004 From: John W. Kennedy <jwkenne@attglobal.net> Date: Friday, 10 Dec 2004 13:54:41 -0500 Subject: 15.2078 The Merry Wives of Windsor, Texas? Comment: Re: SHK 15.2078 The Merry Wives of Windsor, Texas? I hardly think others can be blamed for doing to Shakespeare what Shakespeare did to so many others. "Lone Star Love" should be allowed to rise or sink on its own merits or lack of same, so long as they do not violate the Truth in Labeling or Trades Description acts by actually claiming to /be/ Shakespeare. (But one stuck-out-tongue to the "Times" reviewer, for forgetting that the libretto of Verdi's "Falstaff" was written by Arrigo Boito.) _______________________________________________________________ S H A K S P E R: The Global Shakespeare Discussion List Hardy M.
