The Shakespeare Conference: SHK 15.2057 Tuesday, 7 December 2004 From: Ruth Ross <evieross@comcast.net> Date: Sunday, 5 Dec 2004 08:41:36 -0500 Subject: "Illyria" at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey To all those Shaksper-eans out there in the New York metropolitan area (especially the New Jersey suburbs and the city), the Shakespeare Festival of New Jersey just opened an absolutely delightful musical version of Twelfth Night called Illyria by Peter Mills and Cara Reichel. It's a regional premiere, not a retread of one of the previous musical incarnations. This is a first-rate, professional production by an Equity company. The theater is located on the Drew University campus in Madison, NJ, on a direct train line out of New York and easy access by car. The production will run through December 26 and is a holiday confection suitable for families. Performances are Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m., Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m. There are no public performances on Dec. 24 or 25. Regular tickets range from $44 to $58. The theater holds about 300 people, with no seat more than 32 feet from the stage! The theater is handicapped accessible too. For information and tickets, call the box office at (973) 408-5600 or visit www.ShakespeareNJ.org Don't miss this one!
