Subject:        Call for Papers: WV Shakespeare Conference

Call for Papers
The Shakespeare and Renaissance Association of West Virginia

This academic year's meeting of WEVSARA, the Shakespeare and Renaissance
Association of West Virginia, will take place on May 19-21, 2005, at
Bethany College.

  The conference registration fee, payable to Bethany College, is
$40.00. The Friday evening banquet will be a buffet on campus at $20.00.
After-dinner entertainment will be provided.

The conference invites individual papers or complete panels on any
aspect of the English or European Renaissance, from approximately
1500-1660, in history, literary criticism especially on Shakespeare,
Milton, Elizabethan or Jacobean drama, and English Renaissance and
seventeenth-century literature in general), art history, philosophy, and
musicology. Presentations related to the Gunpowder Plot, marking the
400th anniversary are particularly welcome.

Papers read at the conference are eligible for publication in the 2006
volume of *SRASP* -- Shakespeare and Renaissance Association: Selected
Papers, edited by Byron Nelson of West Virginia University.

Professor Hugh Grady of Arcadia University will deliver the keynote
address on "Shakespeare and Impure Aesthetics."

Please send a completed paper (of no more than 20-minutes reading time)
or a detailed abstract (250 words or so) to:
