The Shakespeare Conference: SHK 15.1891 Friday, 15 October 2004 From: Richard Burt <rburt@english.ufl.edu> Date: Tuesday, 12 Oct 2004 08:56:04 -0400 Subject: A Big Throne to Fill, and the Man to Fill It A Big Throne to Fill, and the Man to Fill It October 12, 2004 By BEN BRANTLEY Ascending the throne has never been more of a struggle for the title character of "Richard III" than it is in the production that opened last night at the Public Theater. This is not a metaphor. Peter Dinklage, who is portraying Shakespeare's most villainous monarch, is 4-foot-5, and the throne of England was obviously designed for a taller king. http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/12/theater/reviews/12rich.html?ex=1098585343&ei=1&en=986d1e9700fdd28d _______________________________________________________________ S H A K S P E R: The Global Shakespeare Discussion List Hardy M.
