Comment: Re: SHK 15.1112 Portia Strikes Again! >"The Supreme Court ruled for the first time Monday that a death row >inmate can pursue a last-ditch claim that lethal injection is >unconstitutionally cruel. > >"In a rare unanimous decision on a capital punishment case, justices >sided with a convicted Alabama killer who claims his veins are so >damaged from drug abuse that executioners might have to cut deeply into >his flesh to administer the deadly drugs." A decision to grant certiorari is almost always "unanimous." It takes only four justices to agree to hear a case, and all that is announced is the decision, not the vote. And you can't assume why the justices voted to hear it. They might just want to put an end to such silly arguments. But what has this got to do with Shakespeare? _______________________________________________________________ S H A K S P E R: The Global Shakespeare Discussion List Hardy M.
