The Shakespeare Conference: SHK 15.0941 Monday, 26 April 2004 From: Stanley Wells <Stanley.Wells@shakespeare.org.uk> Date: Friday, 23 Apr 2004 12:40:16 +0100 Subject: 15.0932 A Couple of Anniversaries Today Comment: RE: SHK 15.0932 A Couple of Anniversaries Today During a little ceremony at the Shakespeare Centre I've just been reading aloud from Leigh Hunt's charming essay 'Shakespeare's Birthday', printed on 3 May 1820, which begins 'Next Friday, making the proper allowance of twelve days from the 23rd of April, according to the change of the Style, is the birthday of Shakespeare.' So should we postpone the celebrations? Or just have two sets?
