SHAKSPER 2004: A Gioia to Behold
From: Hardy M. Cook (editor@shaksper.net) Date: 03/08/04
The Shakespeare Conference: SHK 15.0630 Monday, 8 March 2004 From: Nancy Charlton <n.charlton@comcast.net> Date: Monday, 8 Mar 2004 04:25:49 -0500 (EST) Subject: A Gioia to Behold Here is Wm Safire's latest column, sent from the NYT web site with their own abstract and link. WS notes that Dana Gioia organized the largest Shakespeare tour ever (which has been noted here on SHAKSPER), and I was intrigued by his suggestion that the earlier WS could have fashioned a tragedy around a US president who supported the NRA. Tangentially relevant, I guess!
