SHAKSPER 2004: Shakespeare and Sinatra
From: Hardy M. Cook (editor@shaksper.net) Date: 01/13/04
The Shakespeare Conference: SHK 15.0079 Tuesday, 13 January 2004 From: Stephen Cohen <CohenS@mail.ccsu.edu> Date: Monday, 12 Jan 2004 15:22:58 -0500 Subject: Shakespeare and Sinatra SHAKSPERians: I hope you'll indulge me in a frivolous request for a good cause. A colleague of mine hosts a weekly Frank Sinatra program on our campus radio station, and once a month he invites a guest to participate in a "Sinatra and..." format, with what follows the "and" being an aspect of campus life to which he hopes to introduce his audience (previous topics have included journalism, science, and even planning and construction). Next month's topic is to be Shakespeare, and, despite knowing little more of Sinatra than "My Way," I'm the guest. The host has assured me that he'll cover the Sinatra and all I need do is talk about Shakespeare, but I'd like to have some connections between the two to contribute. Can anyone suggest songs, movies, or anything else by or involving Sinatra or his associates that have a Shakespeare reference or other connection? Many thanks, Steve Cohen _______________________________________________________________ S H A K S P E R: The Global Shakespeare Discussion List Hardy M.
