"Would anyone who saw this production [Henry VIII] recommend it to those
of us on the Left Side, so that we should try to find a way to view it?"

First of all, the television drama referred to was not a production of
Shakespeare and Fletcher's play Henry VII or All Is True.

It was just a historical cozzie-drama, albeit one that cost £6,000,000.

Moreover, it was absolute rubbish.

Fans of historical cozzie drama would do much better to search out the
BBC's rather excellent Charles II: The Power and the Passion, which
aired in the UK a few weeks ago.

D Bloom <dbloom@asms.net> asks,

Yes, I'm very bothered by this, too. In fact there's a little-known play
called "Richard III" which I think should be banned for this very
reason.

I have a similar problem with the title characters of Henry V and
Macbeth, and with Joan of Arc in Henry VI Part I. And don't get me
started on Sir John Falstaff.

Sorry, Don. I wasn't sure whether you were being tongue-in-cheek about
this, or not!
