Subject:        2004 WV Shakespeare Conference

Call for Papers

The 2004 meeting of WEVSARA, the Shakespeare and Renaissance Association
of West Virginia, will take place on Thursday through Saturday, 22-24
April, 2004, at Marshall University, Huntington, WV.  The conference
registration fee, payable to WEVSARA, is $40.00. There will be a Friday
evening banquet at $17.50 per person.

The conference invites individual papers or complete panels on any
aspect of the English or European Renaissance, 1500-1660, including
studies in history, literary criticism, art history, philosophy,
musicology, and, of course, the work of Shakespeare and his
contemporaries.  Papers read at the conference are eligible for
publication in the 2005 volume of _SRASP_, the annual journal of the
Association, edited by Byron Nelson, WVU, and refereed by a
nationally-known panel of Shakespeare and Renaissance scholars.

This year' keynote address will be delivered by Professor Mark Taylor,
Manhattan College, whose most recent book is _Shakespeare' Imitations_
(Newark: U of Delaware Press, and Associated University Presses, 2002).

Please send a completed paper (20 minutes reading time: 8-10 pages) or a
detailed abstract (about 500 words) to:
