I don't know how long cassette tape technology will linger, but the tapes themselves are far from immortal- my 20 year old tapes are stretched to distortion or brittle and breaking. I went out to buy new blank tapes to copy some, and discovered that the many local outlets that used to sell them no longer carry any: blank tapes are now a "specialty" item, which is not a good sign. Also, I have been finding audio tapes of things like the 3 cassette Gielgud M4M selling for 25 cents at yard sales. Obsolescence looms. _______________________________________________________________ S H A K S P E R: The Global Shakespeare Discussion List Hardy M.
