Since dancing masters were paid very large sums of money, it seems
unlikely to me that Shakespeare's company would have hired them to
choreograph the dances for the plays, but if anyone has information
otherwise, please send the citations along.

| On a side note, there's a painting that's commonly referred to as
Queen
| Elizabeth dancing La Volta with the Earl of Leicester or sometimes
| Essex. (http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Portal/6975/volta.jpg) Is it
| indeed Elizabeth? I've heard rumors that this was has been contested,
| but can't find confirmation.

Skiles Howard's _The Politics of Courtly Dancing in Early Modern
England_ (Amherst: U of Massachusetts P, 1998) mentions this on p. 56
and in note 42 on p. 177.
