Winerock <winerock@yahoo.com> Date: Thursday, 12 Dec 2002 07:24:29 -0800 (PST) Subject: Postgraduate History Conference -- Call for Papers (University of Sussex) Fresh Perspectives on Conflict & Change An History Conference for Postgraduates, by Postgraduates Call for Papers The Sussex University Postgraduate History Forum invites papers for its 3rd annual conference, to be held on 17th and 18th March 2003 at the University of Sussex, Brighton. This year?s conference topic is ?Fresh Perspectives on Conflict and Change?. We invite all postgraduate history students who study on related topics and are interested in exchanging ideas with other postgraduate students from all round Britain to participate as speakers, and as attendants. Participants should feel free to interpret the two concepts of conflict and change as widely as they wish. We would particularly accept papers that offer fresh perspectives in historical method, theory, and topics such as: Post-Colonialism Gender & Sexuality Contested Identities Art & Culture Social Movements Race & Nationality Politics & Government Globalisation The conference will also feature guest speakers, workshops and skill sessions on topics such as: Oral History, Presentation Skills, The Role of the Internet in Historical Research and many more. Final Papers should be 15-20 minutes reading time in length.
