From: Hardy M. Cook (editor@shaksper.net) Date: 11/19/02
The Shakespeare Conference: SHK 13.2295 Monday, 18 November 2002 From: Arthur Lindley <elllindl@leonis.nus.edu.sg> Date: Saturday, 16 Nov 2002 11:22:19 +0800 (SGT) Subject: Re: Pop Shakespeare Richard Burt and others interested in pop cultural Shakespeare references might want to know about two mystery novels by Philip Gooden, Death of Kings (2001) and Sleep of Death (2000), both set in Elizabethan London. The hero is a minor member of the Lord Chamberlain's Men and Shakespeare figures as a character in each book. They're intermittently clever and generally well-researched. Both are published by Constable and Robinson in the UK. Arthur Lindley _______________________________________________________________ S H A K S P E R: The Global Shakespeare Discussion List Hardy M.
