Subject: Dream (Folio TLN 1766-1770)

To report:

The Beeb say that the reason for £10 being substituted for sixpence in
Dad's Army was the consequence of the translator/subtitler not being
conversant with the respective eras (WW2 / now).

Nice to know that I've been around long enough to have lived through
"eras".

I think that it was Spike Milligan who said he was going to have
"Blimey! Is that the time already?" chiselled on his gravestone. (He
was also thinking about having "See. TOLD you I was ill".)

The error struck me as an interesting example of textual
transmission/corruption. (Something you don't come across often in
Shakespeare!)

Best wishes,
Graham Hall
