Subject:        Query: Montaigne and Clocks

Dear Friends,

Somewhere in one of his journals of his travels, Montaigne writes about
the cacophony of striking clocks in Italy. Can anyone supply a reference
for this? I came across it in my childhood and have been trying to
locate it ever since.
