The Shakespeare Conference: SHK 12.0541 Wednesday, 7 March 2001 From: Judy Craig <Pecan424@aol.com> Date: Tuesday, 6 Mar 2001 12:36:37 EST Subject: 12.0522 Re: Tempest Reference Comment: Re: SHK 12.0522 Re: Tempest Reference I also heard Frank Kermode's lecture and found it sane and inoffensive, although some members of the audience seemed angered by it and asked pointed questions. No one wore name tags, so I could not identify them. What I personally found interesting about the lecture was his admission that he was an aging radical and as such felt qualified to comment on some of the stances taken by modern radicals. Since I am neither an aging nor a modern radical, perhaps my perspective is unwanted, but again, I found the lecture enlightening. Cheers, Judy Craig (newly relocated to the East Coast, and, therefore, eligible, perhaps, to speak better to issues at hand)
