Subject: Nunn's Twelfth Night

Discussions on Branagh, sometimes furious, are giving me quite enjoyable
minutes in the morning. But how about Trevor Nunn's Twelfth Night? I
don't like to say that the film is a junk as a whole (I love Ben's
Feste!), but Trevor's script cuts the scenes, especially Viola-Orsio
love scenes, into pieces so much that I feel the passion involved is
somewhat rationalized, lessens its own power. The scenes as Shakespeare
wrote them are very finely written, work very potently on the stage. I
think Trevor has gone too far about re-dividing the scenes. What's your
remark on it, memebers?
