The Shakespeare Conference: SHK 11.2380 Friday, 29 December 2000 From: Dana Shilling <dshilling@worldnet.att.net> Date: Wednesday, 27 Dec 2000 11:58:00 -0500 Subject: 11.2372 Re: Branagh Love's Labour's Lost Comment: Re: SHK 11.2372 Re: Branagh Love's Labour's Lost My small, obscure local video store had a poster for LLL. I was disappointed at the news that there would not be a video release--but the store invested in two copies. I thought it was a complete failure as a version of LLL, but as a movie I found it entertaining and, in the end, moving (although they did have some pretty emotive subjects to draw on). I enjoyed the choreography; I'm not surprised that Adrian Lester is a fine dancer--but who knew that Branagh was a quite watchable dancer? Pity that the women were completely wasted in two-word parts--but that's a failing of many movie genres from action onward. Dana Shilling
