After asking this question, it occurred to me that I had Twelfth Night
1.2.52-55 in the back of my mind.  Viola says: "Thou shalt present me as
an eunuch to him [i.e., Orsino]./ . . . for I can sing,/And speak to him
in many sorts of music/That will allow me very worth his service."
