Being a member of the Rice Pudding group rather than the Hasty Pudding
group, I regret that legal and business affairs have kept me offline for
two weeks, and caused me to miss this thread!

I am fascinated by the conflation of food and sex themes in literature
and keep finding them where perhaps they ought not be.  . . . has anyone
read the first chapter of Heliodorus' Aethiopica?   I would be
interested in any comments-
