From: Marti Markus <martim@balcab.ch> Date: Friday, 17 Dec 1999 16:54:14 +0100 Subject: 10.2238 Re: Mrs. Bottom Comment: Re: SHK 10.2238 Re: Mrs. Bottom Basically a bass and a heavy smoker, I am yet able to sing Fenella's part in the title role of one of Auber's operas - and very much to my wife's delight I always do that on Sunday mornings when having a shower - she objects to all my other musical endeavours. But I could also play Nedar's part most rarely, let me play it: "And last, forget not that I ne'er appear On stage because my sister, Mrs Bottom, a midwife, as you'll know, has asked me now to come to Macbeth's castle, there to help in matters well beyond a critic's power." Markus of Portici.
