Sorry, I am coming into this discussion a little late, but is Mrs Bottom
an original character?  I have played Bottom in an uncut version of Mid
Summer and in the version we used there is no mention of a Mrs. Bottom,
not even as a ghost character in the stage directions.  Bottom's lines
don't even lend themselves to indicate that he is married.  Was this an
addition of the 1935 film?  Or does such a ghost character actually
exist?
