From: Edward Pixley <pixleyee@snyoneva.cc.oneonta.edu> Date: Tuesday, 07 Dec 1999 20:09:51 -0500 Subject: 10.2149 Re: The Most Unkindest Cut Comment: Re: SHK 10.2149 Re: The Most Unkindest Cut I've used Ball in playwriting classes as well as in script analysis classes. It is so wonderfully basic. Students sometimes accuse him of stating the obvious, but when pressed, they quickly admit that his points usually weren't obvious until he made them obvious. One of his favorite techniques, in fact, is to remind the reader of how obvious the points are, so that we can all be amazed together at the folly of those who seem not to have noticed.
