Subject: A Wedding and Four Funerals

Given that Denmark was apparently an elective monarchy, and Gertrude was
a middle-aged matron probably too old to have additional children, the
significance of the royal marriage was also diminished. The court
probably didn't much care who Claudius married, because his marriage
would not foist an illegitimate heir on the throne of Denmark.
