Dear John--

I too would like to hear what other people thought of 12th Night...of the three
recent Shakespeare film offings (R &J and the Pacino movie), I found it by far
the best. Sure, they did some of the movie changeroo stuff (adding a dramatic
storm scene at the beginning--but I really didn't mind that) and cutting out
certain famous lines ("it is too hard a knot for me to untie" etc), and
speeches, but I was impressed with more than just Kingsley--Helena Bonham
Carter is great as well, and more...and I was impressed by the montage
juxtapositions of Malvolio in prison with Olivia and Sebastion all being
puzzled in wonderment (Illyria delium)--it highlighted thematically the word
"imagination" and actually used movie technology to SUPPORT the text...even as
it deviated from it. Chris Stroffolino
