Subject:        Online Shakespeare
 
This is my third public try to get an answer to this question, in addition
to several private inquiries, and attempts on my own to solve the question.
 
What I want to know is if the new Shakespeare/Gopher files are available
via FTP anywhere.
 
Somehow the concept of using Gopher to search a 6M text does not seem
consistent with efficient use of the networks, and I prefer to be able
to search the files with my own software, on my own machine, so that I
am not wasting login time and dollars, nor am I at the mercy of some
gateways that might be down.
 
It seems an odd bottleneck, if this is, in fact, an intentional "feature"
of this effort to place the works of Shakespeare online.
