Douglas Lanier recently asked for the citation for Laura Bohannon's
article, "Shakespeare in the Bush."  It originally appeared in _Natural
History_, August-September, 1966.  It was reprinted in Charles Bazerman's
_The Informed Reader_ (Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1989).  I've used it
in my "Shakespeare for non-majors" courses as a way to raise issues of
ideology and the contingency of aesthetic values.  It's an accessible,
engaging text.
