SHAKSPER 1992: Q: Graduate School Admissions Requirement
From: Hardy M. Cook (hmcook@boe00.minc.umd.edu) Date: 12/05/92
Shakespeare Electronic Conference, Vol. 3, No. 353. Saturday, 5 December 1992. From: Rasa Hollender <HR973093@HOPE.CIT.HOPE.EDU> Date: Friday, 4 Dec 1992 18:47 EST Subject: [Q: Graduate School Admissions Requirement] Dear Shaksperians, I will be applying to graduate school in theatre over the holidays... Along with my applications, I am asked to submit two examples of written work. I am applying for an MA program, and then hope to be on the PhD track. My question to professors or other students on the line is what would be advisable for me to submit? What types of work, in your experiences, have been what grad schools are looking for? I will be submitting something from my Shakespeare class (either a sonnet explication or critical essay involving some of the plays we've read) and I have essays involving other topics in theatre. Would a critical essay be more advisable, or a researched topic essay?? Just some questions.... THANK YOU, Rasa Hollender HR973093@hope.edu
