SHAKSPER 1992: Another R: Changing the Gender of Characters
From: Hardy M. Cook (hmcook@boe00.minc.umd.edu) Date: 10/14/92
Shakespeare Electronic Conference, Vol. 3, No. 256. Wednesday, 14 October 1992. From: Kay Stockholder <kay.stockholder@mtsg.ubc.ca> Date: Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1992, 09:36:18 PDT Subject: Changing the Gender of Shakespearean Characters I would think it makes better sense to give the role of Hamlet to a cross-dressed woman. I'm sure there are many actresses who would be delighted to play the part, and capable of it.
