Office for Humanities Communication
CATH92
Computers and Teaching in the Humanities
Manchester Polytechnic
15-17 December 1992
Cost to be Announced
This year's CATH conference will take place at Manchester Polytechnic with
accommodation in the Manchester Business School. The surroundings will not be
as picturesque or historic as last year's in Durham, but all rooms will have
en-suite bathrooms. After last year, the overwhelming demand was for more
practical sessions and more discussions on how to introduce computers into
teaching. There will therefore be practical sessions on multimedia, text
handling, databases, electronic communications, specific pedagogic software
packages, and other topics to be arranged. Discussion sessions will be led by
people with lots of practical experience, but there will be plenty of
opportunity for all to participate. Before the start of the conference (14-15
December) there will be optional workshops for beginners and there will be the
usual software fair. If you would like to offer a session or a demonstration,
or you have some views on the kinds of sessions there should be let us know.
