Date: Thu, 12 Mar 1992 11:08:00 -0500 From: Stuart Lee <STUART@vax.ox.ac.uk> Subject: Hypermedia for Humanities: training Course As part of the new Information Technology Training Initiative (ITTI) based at Oxford University Computing Services there will be an introductory course for humanities lecturers interested in hypermedia authoring. The title of the initiative is "Hypermedia in Literary Studies" and aims at developing courseware in this area. Stuart Lee ************************************************************************* Oxford University CTI Centre for Textual Studies and the Office for Humanities Communications Introduction to Hypermedia An ITTI Workshop 23-24 April 1992 The workshop will introduce hypermedia and its concepts. Hardware and software will be discussed. There will be hands-on sessions when you will be introduced to various software packages, including Guide and Hypercard. Various hypermedia applications available for the humanities will be demonstrated. This is the first in a series of courses on hypermedia. Intermediate and advanced workshops on particular packages, as well as workshops on some of the building blocks, sounds and images, are planned. The cost of the workshop will be #50 for university staf (participants may be able to obtain funding from their staff development office) or #60 for others. Cheques should be made payable to O.U.C.S. These prices include lunch and refreshments on both days but not overnight accommodation. Bed & Breakfast can be arranged locally if you let us know in advance.
