Perhaps *Analyzing Shakespeare's Action* by Charles A. Hallett and Elaine
S. Hallett? (Cambridge University Press, 1991)

Consider also Polonius and Laertes as successive echoes of Hamlet: first by
indirections finding directions out; then, direction having been found,
exit the one and enter the other, to be revenged most throughly for his
father.

Admittedly this idea remains only partially baked. It occurred to me that
it might provide a thematic reason for the death of Polonius and bridge the
broken back that bothered T.S. Eliot.

Is anyone out there going to SAA and willing to share one of those $85 per
night rooms on April 16-18 with a moderate social drinker and a non-smoker?
