Quotation omitted -- k.s.] MAC Concordance programs: Though not so fully featured as WORD CRUNCHER, there are at least two concordance programs for the MAC that will do quite a bit of text analysis. One is MacConcordance, the other called GConc. I have experimented only a little with each (on the Milton on Line disks) so can't offer a lot of information at this point. If you would like to know of the provenance and availability of these programs you might inquire of Matt Wall, Humanities Computing Consultant at Swarthmore: wall@cc.swarthmore.edu. Tom Blackburn tblackb1@cc.swarthmore.edu (2)-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 24 Jan 1992 14:44:00 -0500 From: "Dr. Mike (asst director ACC)" <NEUMAN@guvax.georgetown.edu> Subject: WordCruncher for the Mac Luc Borot asked about text-analysis programs -- something like WordCruncher -- for the Mac. A fax I just received from Johnston & Co. (current distributors of WordCruncher) announces that a Mac version of the program is scheduled to be released in Spring 1992. The Windows version is due out in Winter 1992 (within the next month or two?) At the risk of resembling an agent on commission, I'll post the phone number for Johnston & Co.: (801) 756-1111. Note: If anyone is within local calling of Johnston & Co. and can find out whether Winter 1992 means January-March or October-December, I'd appreciate the confirmation... k.s.]
