SHAKSPER 1991: Electronic Bevington Text of Shakespeare
From: Ken Steele (ksteele@epas.utoronto.ca) Date: 12/03/91
Shakespeare Electronic Conference, Vol. 2, No. 316. Tuesday, 3 Dec 1991. Date: Tue, 3 Dec 1991 10:24:00 -0500 From: John D. Cox <COX@HOPE.BITNET> Subject: Bevington text on line I just received the following note (hard copy) from David Bevington: "Just to report that the idea of putting the new HarperCollins Shakespeare on disk seems to be back on track. I was sure it was cancelled, but no, I got a phone call. One can't predict for sure it will happen, but it is now a lively enough prospect that you might correct on your network the negative impression I gave you last month. At present the plan is just to put the whole book--notes, introductions, and all--on disk. There was a fancier option of software with windows and all but quite possibly not worth the cost. If anyone has an opinion on that I'd be grateful and will pass any reactions on to HarperCollins." No indication of cost, accessibility, copyright, etc., as you can see. For what it's worth. The HarperCollins editor for the Bevington text is Lisa Moore, but I haven't contacted her for more information. John D. Cox COX@HOPE
