Here are some of the topics to be explored via papers and panels: Richard Burton: The Celebrity as *Hamlet* Panel on the Zeffirelli *Hamlet* *Macbeth*: Circular and Linear History *Macbeth* on Film and TV *Merchant*: Staging the Trial Scene Radical Approaches to Using Performance Tapes in Teaching Masculinity and Unconsciousness in the Reinhardt/Dieterle and Hall *Dream*s The Musical Version of *Two Gents* *Hamlet*: The "Literary" Q2 vs the "Theatrical" F *Othello*: The Racial Factor in Performance Staging the Mousetrap at the Globe The Bogdanov/Pennington Second Henriad Asta Neilson's Silent *Hamlet* Puppets and Performance in Renaissance Drama The "Text" vs. the "Film-Text": Critical Practices *Richard II* in Performance etc. to be presented by both younger scholars and grizzled vets. In addition, we will watch a televised stage version of *Dream*, as yet unreleased and assess its marketability. Also -- updates on the myriad new materials now on the market. Cost: $150, including rooms, all meals, and lobster bake! $ 25 registration fee.
